FORGE Command ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the FORGE Command mobile application ("the App").

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account and use the App, we collect:
- Account information: Your name, email address, company or organisation name, and your selected role on site.
- User content: Site diary entries, audit records, snag list items, photographs, email drafts, and any other content you create within the App.
- Purchase information: Records of your purchase, processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store payment card details.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers (anonymised for analytics purposes).
- Usage data: How you interact with the App, including features used and session duration. This data is anonymised and used to improve the App.
- Crash data: Technical logs generated if the App crashes, used solely for debugging and performance improvement.
2.3 Information Collected with Your Consent
- Location data: Precise GPS coordinates, used for GPS-stamping site records. Location is only collected when you use the GPS stamping feature and is never collected in the background. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
- Camera and photo library: Photographs taken or selected for attachment to site records. These images are stored as part of your User Content.
- Microphone: Voice recordings used for dictation of site diary entries. Audio is processed locally or through a secure transcription service and is not stored beyond the transcription process.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Providing the App's services: Storing and displaying your site records, generating reports, enabling GPS and weather stamping, and facilitating email communications.
- Account management: Creating and maintaining your account, authenticating your identity, and communicating with you about your account.
- Weather data: Your GPS coordinates (when provided) are shared with a weather service provider to retrieve current weather conditions for your location. Only coordinates are shared; no personal information is included.
- Improving the App: Analysing anonymised usage data and crash reports to identify issues, improve performance, and develop new features.
- Customer support: Responding to your enquiries and providing technical assistance.
- Legal compliance: Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
4. What We Do Not Do
We want to be clear about practices we do not engage in:
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
- We do not share your User Content with third parties.
- We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not collect location data in the background.
- We do not display advertisements within the App.
5. Data Sharing
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Weather service provider: GPS coordinates only (no personal information) are shared with a third-party weather API to retrieve weather conditions for your site records.
- Crash reporting service: Anonymised crash logs and diagnostic data are shared with a crash reporting service to help us identify and fix technical issues.
- Cloud hosting provider: Your data is stored securely with our cloud hosting provider, who processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
6. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures, including:
- Encryption of all data in transit using TLS/SSL
- Encryption of stored data at rest
- Secure authentication and access controls
- Regular security reviews and updates
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to maintaining industry-standard protections.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information and User Content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your data within 90 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain information.
Anonymised usage data and crash logs may be retained indefinitely for analytical and improvement purposes, as they cannot be linked back to individual users.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a data subject under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").

You can export your User Content at any time through the App's built-in export functionality. This includes site diary entries, audit records, snag lists, and attached photographs. We believe your site data belongs to you, and we will never restrict your ability to access or export it.
10. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time by:
- Using the account deletion feature in the App (Settings > Account > Delete Account)
- Emailing privacy@forgecommand.com
We recommend exporting your data before deleting your account. Once deletion is processed, your data cannot be recovered.
11. Children's Privacy
FORGE Command is designed for adult construction professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
12. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside the United Kingdom. Where data is transferred to countries outside the UK, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), to protect your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
13. Cookies and Tracking
The FORGE Command App does not use cookies. Our website (forgecommand.co.uk) may use essential cookies for basic functionality. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies on our website or within the App.
14. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
Your continued use of the App after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
